Buick Enclave sales are keeping a pace that should set records and many people are asking why? The Enclave debuted way back in 2007. Based on usual industry trends, the sales should have begun to slow down by now, but that’s not the case with the Enclave. Buick sold 52,837 Enclaves through November. That represents an 8 percent increase from the same period last year.
So what’s going on? One theory links the sales boom to heavy incentive blitzing. But Enclave has not been singled out for sales incentives. So much for that theory. The truth is that since the car debuted it has changed little and it’s simply an appealing style that has remained the same. Once shunned for unimaginative vehicles, General Motors’ Buick is on a roll today. The Enclave is a crossover that bucks conventional wisdom – it’s headed for Buick’s record book!
The brand’s overall sales are up too. Through November, 162,659 Buicks rolled out of dealerships – that’s an 18 percent sales increase. And those numbers don’t include the new crossover or the ne Verano sales.
The new Buick crossover, the Encore, should keep sales high. The Encore debuts at theDetroitauto show and production kicks up even higher in December.
Then there’s the Verano. It was a finalist in Motor Trend’s recent Car of the Year competition. Rumor has it that it missed the coveted award by a hair. With a more powerful engine it would likely capture the title. A more powerful engine is coming next year.
The Verano is a compact sedan. It has unique features, both interior and exterior. It has great style, power trains, and a wide range of tuning.
Buick is on a great new roll and the Enclave is leading the way. Eric Thomas, WBTV Weatherman & Local Celebrity Praises Liberty's Excellent Customer Service
When people in Charlotte, Matthews & Monroe, NC ask WBTV Weatherman Eric Thomas why he continues to buy his vehicles from Liberty Buick GMC Trucks he replies, “Pretty simple really, because I feel like I’ve developed a personal relationship with them. For that reason, I will always give them first consideration. I even bought a used truck off their lot….I am still objective with my purchase decisions, and because I always keep my options open, it says a lot about the people and the product at Liberty.”
Since 1992, Eric Thomas, the well-known, friendly, WBTV Weatherman/Meteorologist, has been a repeat customer of Liberty Buick GMC Trucks in Charlotte, Matthews & Monroe, NC. Over the last 20 years, he has purchased 3 cars from Liberty, and has been very pleased with all of them. He continues to be a regular, satisfied customer for both of Liberty’s sales and service departments.
The first car Thomas bought was a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville, which he still owns. When asked about this car, Thomas said that, “At the time, my son was two years old and waddling around the dealership passing the time in their playroom. He is now a senior at Clemson University and driving that car.”
Eric Thomas even gave accolades to Liberty’s sales and service departments, and said, “A lot of people, when they buy a car, never go back to the dealership for service for fear they will be overcharged versus your neighborhood mechanic. I’ve used local mechanics before, and still do in some cases, but the specialized nature of this car’s 2.0 Liter Ecotec Turbo made me think the dealership’s mechanics were best qualified to maintain this car.’
“I’m obsessive when I buy a new car, and I stand there, in the garage, and watched them, not only work, but observed how careful they were with their tools and how careful they were with the finish of my car. I’m happy to report, in almost four years, nobody has nicked or scratched my car, and mechanically, this car has been flawless. I don’t bother going back to watch them anymore, they have earned my trust completely.’
“In terms of sales, I feel like I’m part of their family. Nobody ever tried to put pressure on me, and never felt like I was told one thing, and delivered another. The McCorkle’s and their employees are genuinely good people running an honest business. Some people might think I get special treatment because I’m the weatherman, and while that is often an icebreaker for sure, when it comes down to sale or no sale, we had to have the same discussion every other customer has. I never asked for any special favors and they never offered any. So I am no different in that regard than any other customer.”
Currently, Eric Thomas has a 2008 Pontiac Solstice that he purchased from Liberty in 2007. When discussing this purchase, he stated, “…Because I love the cars I buy, I don’t buy new cars very often…I finally made my lifelong dream come true when I purchased my first convertible.” He said proudly, “…It was the first 2008 model delivered to Charlotte in July of 2007.”
One of Eric Thomas’ favorite trips was to the N.C. Mountains. He elaborated, “I took it to Asheville in 2008 and drove all around the mountains. Having that mountain air blowing through your hair while twisting around the Blue Ridge Parkway is indescribable. I honestly thought my life was complete after doing that. My only regret was not taking my car over to the Tail of the Dragon!”
Mr. Thomas was also surprised by the continued professional relationship that he has developed with Liberty Buick GMC. According to Thomas, “…Every year I do the Matthews Alive Labor Day parade, which is the biggest Labor Day parade in the Southeastern United States. The first year I was invited I offered to bring my Solstice, which they accepted. Then I got worried people would come up and scratch it, ha! When Scott McCorkle heard about my concern, he stepped right in and told me to take their demo car. Wow! I got the best of both worlds; I could represent myself in the parade without fear of anything going wrong. I told you I was obsessed, and it was another example of Liberty going above and beyond.”
Viewers all over the NC Piedmont region trust Eric Thomas of WBTV for his weather forecasts; now they can also take his advice on buying and servicing cars. A large inventory of new & used cars, trucks, SUVs & vans in a variety of makes and colors may be found at any of the Charlotte, Matthews or Monroe Liberty Buick GMC dealer locations. For more information on any of the great GMC & Buick models available, visit www.clickliberty.com or call 888-306-1908.
